International Students
Students can apply for anyone of our programs through the online application form below and payments can also be made online. On appraising the student’s application we will grant the course memo which will allow them to progress with their VISA process, VISA process period may differ based on applicants country/state, so we appeal to apply well ahead of the course commencement time.
Student visa valid until the duration of the course is granted to foreign students who come to Sri Lanka to follow a course of regular and full-time academic studies at IDM. Students under the age of 16 can apply for a Visa for parents / guardians to stay in the country. Students must have a Visa before traveling to Sri Lanka. Approval for entry Visa for students is only processed in Colombo by the Department of Immigration. Sri Lanka Diplomatic missions do not issue a Visa for students unless the immigration service in Colombo has given permission for a Visa for an entry Visa. Please follow the Visa Application Procedure described below.
Visa Application Procedures
Foreigners who want to study in Sri Lanka must first contact IDM and seek access to one of our study programs. IDM will submit an application for admission to a Visa at the Department of Immigration and the Immigration Department informs the nearest diplomatic mission of Sri Lanka of the approval of the entry Visa.
Subsequently you are expected to visit the nearest diplomatic mission of Sri Lanka to obtain the entry visa approved on the passport. Upon entry into Sri Lanka, prior to the expiry of the visa issued at the port of entry, the foreign national passport must be referred to the Department of Immigration for stamping student visas.
IDM can offer additional services, such as collecting documents through doorsteps and delivering Visa. We also offer special discount prices for our customers who want Visa extensions.
Applicable government visa fee and tax for this visa type is Rs: 20,000.00 per year. For students enrolled in government Universities visa fee and tax is Rs: 10,000.00 per year.
All required details for the Visa procedure will be provided by us, to avert unnecessary adjournment all payments should be made as soon as possible.

Pre-arrival
We understand that arriving in a new country can be both exciting and a bit petrifying if needed, we will organize pickup from the airport. We will also raise a student’s officer in order to get you to know the necessary formalities.
