CIW Foundations Series:

Basic Internet Fundamentals (CIWBIF)

Basic Internet Fundamentals is a two-day class that teaches new users how to access the Internet and its wide array of useful resources. Students will learn how to use Web browsers, electronic mail, newsgroups, File Transfer Protocol (FTP), and Telnet. Students will also learn about search engines and business resources on the World Wide Web using the most popular Internet browsers, Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Target Audience

All professionals required to use the Internet in their daily job functions. Information in this course is required for all levels of specialization in the CIW program.

Job Responsibilities

Understand the common core of Internet knowledge, and apply the foundation skills required for further specialization.

Prerequisites

No experience using the Internet is necessary. An understanding of Microsoft Windows 95/98 is required.
